For $5, you get an admission to OMSI After Dark (a $10 value), a special night dedicated to adults who enjoy the museum, but would rather enjoy it child-free. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, participants will have the opportunity to boldly go where thousands have gone before while enjoying a bevy of bonus features.
The event features Space: A Journey to Our Future, where inquisitive minds can mentally travel around a futuristic lunar base camp, ride a bike-powered centrifuge to experience the challenges of space flight, or build an Ares rocket. Another engaging exhibit encourages visitors to discover SAMSON, one of the most complete fossils of a T. Rex dinosaur, whose 40-foot frame is 66 million years old. Along with these two exhibits, the entire museum will be available to peruse, absorb, and regurgitate at cocktail parties. OMSI After Dark will include samples of local food and beverages from artisan merchants, and cash bars will be available for those desiring full-sized sips.
