Today’s side deal encourages budding Beakman’s to go wild with a night of scientific exploration at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). For $5, you get an admission to OMSI After Dark (a $10 value), a special night dedicated to adults who enjoy the museum, but would rather enjoy it child-free. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, participants will have the opportunity to boldly go where thousands have gone before while enjoying a bevy of bonus features.

The event features Space: A Journey to Our Future, where inquisitive minds can mentally travel around a futuristic lunar base camp, ride a bike-powered centrifuge to experience the challenges of space flight, or build an Ares rocket. Another engaging exhibit encourages visitors to discover SAMSON, one of the most complete fossils of a T. Rex dinosaur, whose 40-foot frame is 66 million years old. Along with these two exhibits, the entire museum will be available to peruse, absorb, and regurgitate at cocktail parties. OMSI After Dark will include samples of local food and beverages from artisan merchants, and cash bars will be available for those desiring full-sized sips.

This Groupon is only valid for guests 21 and over with valid ID.

The museum was also featured in East Portland News and given a 4.5-star rating by four Yelpers: > * We found the museum filled with grown-ups truly enjoying themselves. We watched as they turned knobs, adjusted demonstration equipment, and pulled levers that made objects shoot in the air, roll down inclines, and create patterns – all in the pursuit of science, of course. – David F. Ashton, East Portland News > * Agghhhhhhh! Fun!!!!!! Maybe it’s the drinks, but really it’s the fun exhibits that lead to hours of laughs, teasing, and rambunctiously running around. – Claire W., Yelp
