Feast on the bi-valviest of mollusks with today’s deal: $50 worth of fresh seafood at Oystercatchers for $25. Along with critically acclaimed seafood cuisine caught fresh, you'll also enjoy a sweeping panorama of the bay in which it was born.
Oystercatchers is most famous for its Champagne Brunch ($45; $27.50 kids) held every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There, fish-foodies can sample an array of fresh seafood, breakfast and lunch selections, pasta, omelettes, desserts, mimosas, and limitless bubbly. Almost as famous are the house specialties, lobster macaroni and cheese ($18), and seafood paella for two ($26 per person). Other lunch and dinner menu highlights include five kinds of oysters ($1.50 each for lunch) and a menagerie of line-caught fresh fish ($23–$29 for dinner) served wood-grilled, blackened, or sautéed with Israeli couscous, chutneys, and sauces.
Complimentary with every dinner is a brilliant sunset over the bay, which you'll be able to savor from almost any table, and unlike the sunset view from your parking garage, it won't mouth swears at you in this respectful setting. Thanks to recent renovations, everything from the natural-stone finish to the earthy color scheme to the swirled martini glasses is designed to complement the natural splendor. You can sit back and watch the room glow with warm, tropical reds, oranges, purples, and that color you only see at sunset, schmurple. If you feel like you need a cigarette when it's over, opt instead for a lung-healthy dessert, such as the key lime parfait ($8) or the star anise and cinnamon crème brûlée with berry compote ($8). Though wines are not included in the Groupon, sommeliers-at-heart will find plenty of reds, whites, Rieslings, and specialty cocktails to pair with their dazzling evening.

Under the Sea (Under the Sea)
Seafood fans might feel a little twinge of guilt when they bite into their delicious fruits de mer, knowing that life under the sea is a nonstop musical number, as proclaimed by Sebastian, the pompous crab from The Little Mermaid. Through song, Sebastian insists that “the newt play the flute” and “the carp play the harp,” but not every fish is a musical prodigy. What are some of the lyrics he had to cut?
- “The fluke plays the uke”
- “The flounder plays the hammered dulcimer at Renaissance faires on weekends.”
- “The catfish played some bassoon in high school, but now just brings it out as an affectation at parties.”
- “The walrus comes through periodically and eats a fifth of us, but that’s basically cool.”
- “Finding the music garish and coarse, the clownfish prefers to express himself through the refined art of mime, but is unable to compete with the nearby spectacle. He quietly returns home to his coral reef to find a grant-application rejection letter waiting for him. Again.”
