The L.A.-based Capital Cities are the indie electro band behind the platinum-selling worldwide hit “Safe and Sound,” which you’ve heard in commercials for HBO, Microsoft, Mazda and Coca-Cola. That comes as no surprise, really, since the group’s composer-creators are former jingle writers Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. What’s slightly more shocking is the fact that Capital Cities has also become known for embracing the lost art of the music video with much success, for singles like “Kangaroo Court” and “Farrah Fawcett Hair,” winning an MTV VMA, along with a Grammy nod. They’ve also toured with Katy Perry. Now they’re playing the Pacific Amphitheatre at the OC Fair. Opening the show will be Big Data, an electronic music project led by producer Alan Wilkis. Included with your ticket is complimentary admission to the fair, giving you the opportunity to enjoy hours of fun.
