Palermo's Pizza has spent decades perfecting their nutritious frozen creations; Fitness Magazine named Palermo's Pizza one of 2010's healthiest frozen foods. Factory tours, which last about an hour, send visitors on a journey through the pizza process as well as through the impressive halls of Villa Palermo. The U-shaped building was inspired by a 16th-century villa in Tuscany, complete with a luscious courtyard and fountain. Tours include a 20-minute video presentation of the company's history, not including the Cold War foray into unmanned pizzas. After their pieducation is complete, tour-takers adjourn to the pizzeria to consume their free slice of Palermo's signature pan pizza after safely measuring it with a souvenir ruler. Tours are conducted Monday–Friday.

Those already schooled in the way of sauce can skip the tour and go straight to the café (open Monday–Friday) for hearty helpings of piping hot pan pizza, hand-tossed thin crust pizza, freshly baked cannoli, and many more Italian treats. Don't forget to check out the company store for great deals on newborn factory pizzas in need of a good freezer.

About Palermo's Pizza - Restaurant and Tour

Before it became a large-scale pizza manufacturer, Palermo's Pizza was simply an Italian restaurant run by Gaspare Fallucca and his wife Zina. The Fallucca's are back to their restaurant roots offering freshly baked classic and wood-fired pizzas at Pizzeria 3301 at Villa Palermo. Along with pizzas, guests enjoy homemade soups, fresh salads, and Italian desserts within a cafe atmosphere. Patrons can even tour the pizza factory, attend a tasting event, or participate in a pizza making class.
