Without being fired in a kiln, ceramic plates would be vulnerable to heavy foodstuffs and clay pots would be known as the world's best berets. Create weather-resistant clay creations with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get a two-hour pottery workshop (a $40 value) at Park West Ceramics. Workshops are currently scheduled on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Since 1977, Park West Ceramics has been imparting argil amateurs and pottery professionals alike with clay-molding knowhow. The studio's two-hour workshop trains potters in handbuilding techniques, enabling neophytes to learn at a comfortable pace and more experienced artists to ask objective questions regarding ceramic theory and the interworking of the Electoral College.
Participants will be granted access to Park West’s many tools, which include a slew of slab rollers, plaster molds, extruders, and high-fire kilns. Postcreation, molded masterpieces are dappled in glazes hailing from all regions of the color spectrum, with finished pieces typically available for pickup about a month after class. Much like friends who understand one another's jokes, all class materials are included with enrollment.
