About The Pop Shop

When the soda jerks at The Pop Shop tell you they can mix up a malt just like in the good old days, that's not just lip service. Their soda fountain was recovered from a diner that hadn't opened its doors since the 1940s. After some restorations, what was once a diamond in the rough became the crown jewel of The Pop Shop. And it's not even the only vintage piece in the shop: vintage Westcloxs click out a snappy tune from the candy-colored walls, and a 1954 Seeburg jukebox spins even snappier ones.

Of course, the sodas, shakes, and malts play a pivotal role in this time warp. The Black Cow blends root beer, chocolate syrup, and ice cream, but strangely, no milk; triple-thick shakes are mixed from Bassetts hand-dipped ice cream; and Elvis-themed banana splits harmonize three different riffs on peanut butter. It's not all sweets here, though. A full dining menu boasts a grilled cheese that was featured on Throwdown with Bobby Flay, and the restaurant has received awards from The Philadelphia Inquirer, Restaurant Hospitality, SJ Magazine, South Jersey Magazine, and the Courier Post.
