About Port Morris Distillery
Pitorro, aka Puerto Rican moonshine made from sugar cane, is a big part of the Rodriguez family history. At a reunion, Ralph Barbosa was regaled with tales of his relatives learning and perfecting the family recipe. So he, along with childhood friend Billy Valentin, decided to bring the infamous spirit to New York, but not without a head distiller—Ralph's Tio Rafael. Now settled in Port Morris, the family is serving up a taste of old San Juan. Here is what they have on offer:
Pitorro Shine: the Puerto Rican version of moonshine made from sugar and tropical fruit that is then fermented for 14–21 days for a cleaner finish (92 proof)
Pitorro Anejo: Pitorro that is cured in wood barrels for a spirit that aged whiskey, rum, and tequila drinkers can all enjoy (80 proof)
Pitorro Coquito: A holiday type eggnog made from Coquito & Cinnamon without the dairy
