Opened as Minneapolis' first Ethiopian restaurant, The Red Sea has established itself as a staple destination for flavorful Ethiopian meals. Large, shareable platters covered in sour injera bread and stewed meats and vegetables define the average Ethiopian meal here, but individual portions are also available. The extensive menu boasts such selections as spicy ground beef mixed with butter, as well as vegetarian options galore, like ater kik, a curry made of yellow split peas, onions, and garlic.

But food isn't all The Red Sea is known for. Separated from the peaceful dining hall, another room holds a large dance floor and advanced sound system for a lively happy hour or special events.
