A double-decker boat travels along the Missouri River, passing Freedom Park, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, and the East Omaha Bridge

Even though water covers most of the earth's surface, humans spend most of their lives on land and a small portion in the air while they're sleeping. Float on with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

During one-hour cruises, passengers float along the scenic Missouri River aboard a classic red-and-white riverboat. The vessel travels past Freedom Park's naval yard under the East Omaha Bridge and the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.

The 72-foot Kon-Tiki-O—open every day during spring, summer, and fall—offers four levels of entertainment at its permanently anchored spot on the Missouri River. The riverboat can accommodate more than 400 people in bars of varying themes—from the elegant, fully enclosed Captains Quarters on the first level, to the open-air Lookout Loft on the fourth, which presents spectacular views of the river and downtown Omaha.

About River City Star

When a major flood hit the Missouri River in 2011, it drastically changed the riverfront, creating new sights across its banks. With this fresh face, the river serves as a scenic stage for tours on the River City Star, a riverboat featured in USA Today's August 2009 article “10 Great Places to Stream Through Cities”.

At the wheel of a classic, double-decker riverboat is one of River City Star's two captains, Captain Ken or Captain Steve. Accompanied by an expert crew, the captains ferry passengers over the serene waters that make up Omaha's riverfront. They pass by antique structures such as the historic Old Iowa-Nebraska Swing Bridge, and newer fixtures including the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge, described in USA Today as “a one-of-a-kind design that looks like an art installation across the river.”

The River City Star offers several different cruises including lunch cruises, dinner cruises with live entertainment, party cruises, and more. Back on land, the palm trees and amazing views at the River City Star Landing and the Kon-Tiki-O lend a tropical feel to private and public events such as concerts, weddings, and corporate outings.
