Welcome to the heart and soul of Virginia's winemaking passion - River Dog Winery. Founded in 2017 by the dynamic duo, Chris and Debbie Ziolkowski, this family-owned gem is more than just a vineyard; it's a testament to love, nature, and the unwavering spirit of their loyal canine companions.

Picture this: a small, five-acre haven nestled in the embrace of nature, where every vine, every post, and every wire of the trellises was lovingly crafted by hand. The Ziolkowskis poured five years of dedication and hard work into their vineyard, overcoming nature's challenges to yield bountiful harvests and an array of wines that are ready to be uncorked and shared with guests.

But the story doesn't stop there. In 2019, a chance encounter at a local winery in Tappahannock, VA, led them to a seasoned winemaker and vineyard manager. With his expert guidance, they fine-tuned their vineyard, selecting varietals that thrive in Virginia's hot, humid climate. Fast forward to 2021, and River Dog Winery celebrated its first harvest, marking a significant milestone in its development.

In 2022, the dream expanded as the winery added a production building, ensuring that future harvests would be processed on-site, crafting small-batch, hand-crafted Virginia wines. The result? A symphony of flavors bottled with care and passion.

Enter Floyd W. Oslin, the maestro behind the scenes. With over 40 years of grape-growing and winemaking experience, Floyd's roots run deep in the Virginia wine industry. His Sicilian heritage and tutelage under his father and grandfather paved the way for his illustrious career. A mentor to many in the region, Floyd's wines have garnered acclaim both nationally and internationally. His philosophy? "I make wine that people can enjoy with food."
