About Riverside Golf Course

The 18 holes of Riverside Golf Course huddle into a gentle crook in the Rock River. Inside this heavily wooded patch, golfers sling their shots over hills cloaked with green fairways, pockmarked with the occasional bunker, and haunted by the ghosts of golf balls with unfinished business. The layout is the work of Robert Bruce Harris, who created the original plans for the 6,508-yard course in 1924 and left enough room for a picturesque park sandwiched between the course and the river's edge. Each year, the course hosts the Ray Fischer Tournament, a 72-hole amateur event won in years past by eventual pros Steve Stricker and Skip Kendall.
