Thanks to cartoons, many Americans believe that the correct way to taste wine is to take a sip, then witness something so shocking that it causes them to involuntarily expectorate. Skip the spit takes and sample wine correctly with today's Groupon: for $5, you get a wine tasting and a vineyard tour (an $11.50 value) at Rosa Fiorelli Winery in Bradenton. Rosa Fiorelli Winery sprang into being after Sicilian immigrants Rosa and her husband Antonio relocated to Florida and found the grape-growing landscape to be remarkably similar to the Mediterranean isle from whence they hail. The winery has expanded from an overworked garage into a 3,000-square-foot building served by a 10-acre vineyard—tours include a glimpse into each stage of the grape-growing and juice-transmogrifying process. At the end of each tour, inquisitive oenophiles get a chance to sample the results, from conquistador blush to manatee red. Small plates, crackers, and cheeses are also available.
