Q&A with Annelise, Owner
Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Sacred Thread is all about community. It's more than just a yoga studio—we are truly family. The teachers share personal stories, tips, and tricks, and they make an effort to practice with their students. We believe motivation occurs in numbers and by supporting one another.
What's the most radical physical transformation you've seen a client make?
We recently had a student who had not been able to touch her toes in years. After three weeks of practice, twice a week, she now touches her toes and is able to get her hands on the ground.
Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?
We prefer a mix of music with our classes. Everything from traditional kirtan to soul and rock. The one common thread is that the music is uplifting and speaks to the soul.
