During a three-hour lesson, up to four aspiring sailors at a time learn hands-on how to grind a winch, trim a sail, and take the helm of an actual boat under the guidance of a certified instructor while cruising past the WTC Freedom tower and the New York skyline. Lessons are offered on Tuesday from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. (starting at 6 p.m. in October), and on Sundays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Good for all skill levels, this lesson can introduce beginners to the basics of sailing, or help more experienced sailors hone their skills.
