From Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve, a historical ranch 20 miles outside of San Antonio gets much brighter, illuminated by more than 2 million lights. The annual holiday light show at the Don Strange Ranch in nearby Boerne draws visitors from across central Texas, who come to see the spectacular displays, sip on hot cocoa, and snack on some s'mores, sausage on a stick, tamales and more. The festival is paired with Santa's Village, where you can grab a tamale and some kettle corn before listening to local bands and choirs perform. On the weekend leading up to Christmas, you might even see Santa Claus and his longhorns (in lieu of reindeer).
