About San Francisco Flower & Garden Show

The San Francisco Flower & Garden Show is on the “road”. This year it will be held in Sacramento for the first time in its 34 year history. What started in 1985 as a fundraiser for San Francisco's Parks and Recreation Department has since blossomed into one of the most elaborate events in the State. The Show inspires attendees with designer gardens, as well as demos and Q&As with professional gardeners, florists, nursery owners, and trees born with vocal cords. Specialists share tips for designing with flowers, creating your own garden spaces, and break down hot topics such as water wise gardening, lawn replacement, and lawn purposing.

Those whose thumbs aren't quite as green as they'd like can take advantage of the 60 free seminars and workshops and even practice some skills in the interactive sessions. Experts explain how to grow and prepare garden-fresh food, and also demonstrate pickling, canning, brewing fermented beverages like Kombucha, beekeeping, and more throughout the day. Younger plant enthusiasts can play with worms or try their hand at flower arranging in the kids area. Whether you are a an avid plant aficionado or still a bit green behind the ears, the Flower & Garden Show brings out the spirit of homesteading in everyone.
