SEACAMP Spring Break Camp is a five-day, day camp program designed to introduce students to the ocean and local marine life of Southern California. Open to students in 5th through 8th grade. Through the hands-on labs and interactive water activities the hope is to spark a lifetime interest in the ocean for your student. Students will do a combination of labs and water activities – they will be in or on the water every day! Lunch and snack will be required each day. Check-in between 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and check-out is between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.

Sample Daily Schedule:

  • Day 1: Invertebrate Lab with Squid Dissection and Boogie Boarding & Physical Oceanography at La Jolla Shores.
  • Day 2: Fish Adaptations Lab with Mackerel Dissection and Snorkeling & Seining Mission Point.
  • Day 3: Kayaking on Mission Bay followed by Fish Printing and our Marine Mammals & Behavior Workshop.
  • Day 4: SEACAMP’s Floating Marine Science Classroom – 3 Hour Boat Trip. Followed by Sea Turtle Biology & Conservation Lab.
  • Day 5: Shark Ecology & Plankton Evaluation Labs with Tidepool Exploration at Sea Ridge.

About SEACAMP San Diego

Students do more than just learn about marine biology at SEACAMP San Diego—they experience it. This program helps kids of all ages learn about the vast world of marine science through a number of hands-on activities, whether it's snorkeling in a marine reserve, exploring the ocean's living tide pools, or kayaking in Mission Bay. Camps are available during the summer, spring break, and throughout the school year, and all camp instructors have a marine science background and are certified in CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding.
