Capoeira is often billed as a martial art, but at Seattle Capoeira Center, instructors approach the dance-infused martial art from a more yogic perspective. This is especially true of the studio's early morning Mindfulness Capoeira classes, in which patrons flow through acrobatic moves while centering themselves for the day. That same peaceful ethos also permeates introductory classes, which blend the 10 simplest sequences with an introduction to the African-Brazilian culture that produced Capoeira.
