About SF Bay Area Plastic Surgery
Dr. Shahin Fazilat is a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He first bolstered his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, where he graduated with honors. He went on to obtain his Medical Doctorate from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC, graduating in the top quarter of his class. He then completed his general surgery training at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Throughout the entire educational process, starting form college education, Dr. Fazilat participated in research programs such as The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fellowship Program. The intensive work during this research let him become an author or at least co-author of more than a dozen publications.
Apart from the regular educational program realized in the school he gained specialized plastic surgery training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/Harlem Hospital Center in New York. During this time he got an opportunity to train with internationally well-known professionals in the field of plastic surgery at Columbia University/Harlem Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and New York University.
Nowadays he works as an adjunct faculty/clinical instructor at Stanford University in the Division of Plastic Surgery and is responsible for teaching residents of plastic surgery faculty at Stanford University. Additionally, he also occupies the position of an examiner for the Annual Plastic Surgery Board Review held at Stanford University.
All this schooling and training serves him well at his practice in the Mountain View, California, where he performs all of the surgical and nonsurgical procedures himself. Common procedures he performs include: Botox injections and Vi Peel chemical peels, breast augmentation, abdominoplasties, liposuction, body lifts, and body-contouring.
Each procedure is customized in accordance with the individual’s needs, physique, desires, and medical necessities and contraindications.
