About Shandon Court

East Islip staple Shandon Court welcomes all types, from the families gathering on Sunday night for a traditional roast to the couples snuggled together on the patio on date night. The eatery has a lot of Old World charm, unsurprising for a place that specializes in continental cuisine. Its chefs baby 28-day aged New York Strip, cooking them to guests' preferred temperature and dressing them in Hennessy sauce flavored with caramelized onions and mushrooms. In keeping with the Long Island spirit, they cook up dinners hauled into the restaurant right off the boats, and whip up a variety of fresh seafood starters.

Shandon can't be accused of being stuffy, however, as it also sates guests with hearty pub eats and hosts live music and trivia throughout the week. Owner Gerry Finlay is a professional musician himself, and he's even helped kick off New York City's Saint Patrick's Day Parade. He plays at Shandon Court most Saturday night.
