Functioning as both a school and a gallery, SiNaCa Studios not only showcases the work of glass artists, but also introduces the centuries-old art form to students of all ages. Founded by local artisans, the nonprofit works as part of the community, teaming up with other nonprofits, performing demos, and teaching classes, including glassblowing—the most prodigious use of hot air since Neil Armstrong lied about having lunar citizenship.

People can also opt for a shorter introduction to glass working with so-called experience workshops, such as flame-working, which lasts just three hours. In that time, participants design their own piece with the help of an instructor, who oversees their work in the studio. There, students melt raw glass over an open torch, shaping it with specialized tools and gravity, ultimately creating one seasonal item out of borosilicate, as well as colorful beads to later take home.
