Along with its DIY burgers, Slater's also offers a wine list and a truly extensive beer list.

Slater's 50/50 is so named for its 50/50 burger, an equal combination of ground beef and ground bacon, and the Design It! Menu offers you a degree of customization you haven't experienced since that sleepless week you spent crafting the ultimate dark elf paladin in that online role-playing game. Once you pick the meat (the bacon-averse can also get plain beef, turkey, chicken, and veggie patties) and the size (ranges from $8.45 for 1/3 pound of meat to $13.45 for a full pound slab), you get to pick one of four breads, four toppings, one cheese, and one sauce (each additional choice is $.50). An upscale 50/50 on ciabatta topped with brie, pico de gallo, roasted green chiles, grilled pineapple, and cranberry sauce with wasabi mayonnaise is just one possible combo of many. Premium toppings such as avocado, pastrami, and olive tapenade are a dollar extra.

If you don't even like to build your own bowl of cereal in the morning, you can sample Slater's menu of pre-made signature burgers such as the Caprese Burger ($9.95), a combination of ground beef, mozzarella, tomato, olive tapinade, and balsamic vinaigrette, or the adventurous Peanut Butter and Jeallousy ($10.45), a ground beef patty topped with bacon, peanut butter, and jelly. Slater's also feature a number of entertaining and popular side choices, such as fried pickle chips ($4.95), Slater's Vampire Dip ($6.95, named for the garlic mixed with cheeses and artichoke), and fried artichoke hearts ($4.95).

Besides being a made-to-order burger joint, Slater's also houses a sports bar with 12 flat-panel televisions and the complete cable sports package. With around 60 beers available and plenty of good food to eat, Slater's makes a great place to catch a game, whether your sport of choice is football, cricket, curling, staring contests, or geriatric mixed martial arts.
