About Slice Factory - Lincoln Park

A slice of pizza might not sound like a lot of food, but if it's from Slice Factory, it's more than enough. The cooks here take a 30-inch pizza and cut it into eight jumbo slices, which means every slice of margherita, Meat Lovers, or tropical-barbecue-chicken pizza stretches well over a foot.

The process for ordering one of these massive slices goes like this: customers step up to the display of pizzas behind the counter and pick their favorite topping combinations (or create their own). Next, they watch their slice get reheated in the oven, then they bite into the pizza, stuffing any leftovers into their pockets for later.

Slice's owner, Domenic DiDiana, comes from a family of restaurateurs who opened several pizza establishments throughout the Chicagoland area after moving from Naples, Italy. Like his family's eateries, Domenic's makes food the way his grandmother made it. But Slice also blends traditional Italian flavors with American flourishes, creating gluten-free pizzas, steak burgers, and pulled-pork sandwiches.
