Named the best sports bar in Chicago and No. 3 in the entire country by ESPN, Sluggers draws throngs of sports fans ready to imbibe and nosh while rocking the bar's game collection. Colossi of clout can knock around both hardball and softball targets in the game room's four batting cages, which serve up pitches in six speeds ranging from a gentle lob to a fire-hazard fastball. Sluggers provides bats and helmets, though batters are free to bring their own lucky longball gear if they wish. Just a foul ball's flight from Wrigley Field, Sluggers is a sports-intake sanctuary, its walls decked with photos and memorabilia and punctuated by six 10-foot big screens and more than 30 HDTVs.
Though not included with this Groupon, hitters can celebrate victorious man-vs.-sphere cage fight matches with half-pound burgers and deep dish pizza from Sluggers' tempting menu, then douse their bellies in selections from the long list of featured beers and daily drink specials. During inning breaks or particularly high pop-ups, patrons sustain their competition highs with billiards showdowns on one of seven pool tables or with skee ball, air hockey, Pop-a-Shot basketball, and more. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and after Cubs home games, revelers crowd into the dueling piano bar to see talented key-ringers put on a raucous show.

- None of the other bars in Wrigleyville purport themselves to be year-round sports bars as much as Sluggers. It has the most TVs, the biggest beer list (with lots of interesting micro-brews) and a gallimaufry of Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks relics hanging on the walls. – Larry Majewski, Centerstage Chicago

More than 30 televisions beam the latest athletic happenings, including six 10-foot big screens and several tubes that, like blood viewed under a microscope, are high-definition plasma. Bar denizens drink down glasses of domestic, import, and microbrews while picking at finger foods ordered from the menu, such as wings, deep-dish pizzas, sandwiches, and burgers. Seven pool tables clatter with the impact of broken racks; the arcade jangles with tokens feeding the hungry slots of skee-ball, air hockey, and video games; and batting cages resound with the peal of aluminum bat on mechanical fastball. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, piano-wielding pairs face off on the second floor, taking requests from the crowd while brave spectators wage dance battles on behalf of their favorite ivory tickler.
