- With names like Blood of Jupiter and Caesar's Ghost, Somerset is the first winery in Southern California to produce wines made the same way the ancients did - in large terracotta Amphorae.
- Enjoy an elevated wine tasting experience hosted by our winemaker, David Raffaele, or by one of Somerset's owners. You will be guided through seven Amphorae wine tastings accompanied by gourmet small bites and some fascinating history.
- You will also tour our production room which is filled with French Oak barrels and a variety of beautiful, hand-crafted terracotta Amphorae vessels imported from Italy.
- These Amphora Tastings are offered on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. You must call to reserve a date. We may have availability on other days of the week, so please call to inquire at (951)365-5137 or (951) 365-5208.

About Somerset Vineyard & Winery
Somerset Vineyard & Winery is a popular destination on the De Portola Wine Trail. In addition to making wine in French Oak barrels, Somerset uses an ancient, 8,000-year-old process to make Amphorae wines in large, Italian-made terracotta vessels, which you can see on your tour. We offer fine varietals from the Rhone Valley Region of France and great Reds from the Spanish Mediterranean. The grounds have beautiful gardens with over 500 white rose bushes and 50 olive trees, an iconic Estate House, elegant Tasting Room, and many outdoor as well as indoor seating areas. We have easy parking and live music events throughout the year, and are open late on weekends.
