About Som Tum Modern Thai Cuisine
The culinary landscape of Thailand wouldn't be complete without som tum, or green papaya salad, a popular street food with locals and foreigners alike. Similarly, the restaurant scene in West Roxbury wouldn't be the same without Som Tum Modern Thai Cuisine, and all of its fresh, authentic fare.
Led by Chef Teyya, who grew up eating some of the same dishes she now crafts for customers, Som Tum offers a modern take on classic Thai food with mains including:
- Avocado Curry: a red coconut-based curry with sautéed avocado, bell peppers, onion, tomato, and carrot
- Kapow: stir-fried ground chicken or pork mixed with Thai chilies, onion, and basil leaves
- Spaghetti Pad Kee Mao: stir-fried spaghetti noodles tossed with baby corn, garlic, and peppers in a special spicy sauce
- Gluten-Free Pad Thai: rice noodles stir-fried with egg and mixed with chicken, shrimp, scallions, peanuts, and sprouts
