Wines, like a comfortable T-shirt or a hard candy left to ripen under the couch, only get better with age. Taste the passing of time with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of wine, spirits, and sparkling juices, plus a complimentary in-store tasting at St. Julian Winery. Choose from the following locations: Paw Paw, Union Pier, Frankenmuth, or Dundee.
Rolling out barrels of Dionysian drams that span a spectrum of styles and varieties, St. Julian Winery keeps glasses raised with an effervescent selection of wines, spirits, and sparkling juices. Taking advantage of Michigan's meteorological mimicry, St. Julian's grapesmiths produce Old World–style vintages using fruit cultivated in climates similar to wintry weather brethren in France and Italy. Shoppers can bolster dinner drafts with St. Julian's semisweet Blue Heron ($8.99 for a bottle) or delve into more intricate spirits with a limited-run bottle from the Braganini Reserve line.
Toddling teetotalers can knock back nonalcoholic casks of signature sparkling juices, such as the pomegranate-blueberry ($3.99). St. Julian also produces a bevy of other beverages, including dessert wine (starting at $15.99), champagne and spumante (starting at $8), and strawberry-flavored truth serum.
In addition to restocking wine cellars with take-home treasures, berry bacchanalians can also enjoy a complimentary sip-and-sit in one of St. Julian's tasting rooms. Visitors to the Paw Paw location can take advantage of St. Julian's winery tour, a behind-the-scenes look at the vineyard's vintner alchemists work, transmuting grapes into wine, fruit into juice, and cats into gold.
