About Steer Optical
Traditional eye exams require doctors to merely look at the front of the eye to determine eye health and prescription changes. Optomap retinal imaging technology actually allows doctors to examine internal structures at the back of the eye, which can help them diagnose everything from age-related macular degeneration to high blood pressure.
At Steer Optical, which is affiliated with LensCrafters, Dr. Hugh Steer and fellow optometrist Dr. Joshua Yoo rely on optomap imaging to help determine eye health. After conducting a thorough exam, they write lens prescriptions for glasses and contacts. They also can determine a patient's candidacy for LASIK surgery, which can permanently correct some vision issues and help patients see how late they are immediately upon waking.
