About Strickland's Frozen Custard
It was 1936 when Bill and Florence Strickland opened Strickland's Frozen Custard in Akron. Although Strickland's has expanded to include other Ohio locations as well as spots in California and Florida, not much else has changed. The team still still crafts four fresh ice-cream flavors daily: chocolate, vanilla, and two Flavors of the Day, which range from orange creamsicle to chocolate chip. The desserts are still made in-house with Bill's original recipe, specially built machines, and the shop's signature scoops. Then, the frozen treats fill banana splits, root-beer floats, and turtle sundaes drizzled in hot caramel and fudge, not to mention classic cones.
