When Seattle natives need a fast meal, they turn to quick-service teriyaki shops, which, despite their strong presence there, are relatively uncommon in the rest of the country. Fast-casual Teriyaki Madness hopes to change that. The franchise, once deemed the "Chipotle of Japanese food" by the Dallas Business Journal, has started bringing Seattle-style teriyaki to locations across the United States.

That means that people from California to Maryland can dig into plates piled high with rice or noodles and more than a pound of meat. A thick teriyaki sauce with Korean influences coats the chicken, beef, or tofu. Salads or crisp veggies accompany the meals, as do egg-roll, edamame, and potsticker appetizers.
