Choose from Three Options
- $55 for a Golf 101 class with club rental and a $50 range-ball card ($137 value)
- $85 for a Golf 101 class with club rental and a $100 range-ball card ($187 value)
In the Golf 101 class, students take notes during 30 minutes of classroom instruction to learn about course setup, golf etiquette, and equipment. Then, instructors take the class onto the driving range so students can practice their swings for 60 minutes from the club’s scenic perch over the Hudson River.
- $235 for a Beginner I, Beginner II, or Intermediate golf course with a one-hour simulator session and a $50 range-ball card ($475 value)
Each course meets weekly for 90 minutes for four consecutive weeks. Beginner School I is intended for new players who will learn the game’s fundamentals. Beginner School II will build on those basic skills and introduce pitching and bunker play. The Intermediate course helps players who can already shoot 100 improve their consistency and aim. They’ll work on lag putting, chipping close to the green, and hitting the fairway with a driver.
Golfers also receive ball cards that they swipe to activate the driving range’s automatic ball-tee-up system on future visits. A $50 card allows for up to 323 balls during nonpeak times (197 during peak).

About The Golf Club At Chelsea Piers
As part of the Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex, located at the historic Chelsea Piers, the Golf Club perches over the same port that once welcomed ships into New York City. Now, golfers tee up in the driving range's 52 heated and weather-protected stalls, which overlook the glinting waters of the Hudson River. Automatic tee-up systems position balls for launch across the 200-yard, net-enclosed fairway. A putting green allows patrons to improve their short game, and two Full Swing simulators encourage them to take hacks in virtual environs, transporting them to famous courses across the country or fifth-grade birthday parties where they missed the piñata.
Children and adults alike can enlist in Golf Club at Chelsea Piers’ classes, which stratify students by experience level. The coaching staff includes PGA and LPGA professionals, and sessions take place in a 2,000-square-foot teaching academy.
