Four week wheel throwing pottery classes

Classes are on Tuesdays for two hours beginning at 6pm. Courses begin each month.

This class teaches the fundamentals of wheel throwing. The Hive St. Pete has a fully functioning 3500 ft2 studio with brand new equipment and a professional pottery instructor. You will learn to wedge, center, shape, trim, and glaze your creations. There is no limit on the number of pieces you can keep.

Along with the classes, you will have open studio access at least two days a week so you can freely practice and hone your skills.

Four week pottery hand building

Classes are on Thursday evenings for 2 hrs beginning at 6pm. Courses begin each month. 

This class teaches the fundamentals of hand building, which includes sculpture. The Hive St. Pete has a fully functioning 3500 ft2 studio with brand new equipment and a professional pottery instructor. There is no limit on the number of pieces you can keep.

Along with the classes, you will have open studio access at least two days a week so you can freely practice and hone your skills.

One month pottery studio membership

Our one-month studio access allows full use of all the equipment at The Hive St Pete. Your access begins on the day you buy your voucher. Of this is not possible, please call for other arrangements at 727-290-6515. Included in the price is the use of 6+ wheels, three kilns, two wedging tables, lots of space for hand building, a glaze room, and more. 

Members will buy the cone 6 clay of their choice, and clay is available for purchase at the studio. 

Additional fees will include:

Bisque- $0.015/ cubic inch

Cone 6 glaze and fire - $0.025/ cubic inch

Pottery date night - Saturdays for two - hand building/sculpyure

Join The Hive St. Pete for a great date night for two! You will experience hand building and/or sculpture making with our professional ceramics teacher. The class is two hours, and you may keep what you make. Glazing will occur at your convenience once your work is bisque fired, and glazing and firing are included in this price.

The Hive St. Pete is at 559 49th St. S in St. Petersburg. We have a 3500 sq ft studio with brand new equipment and a professional ceramics teacher. The Hive differs from other classes in that you will learn the art from beginning to end, getting you started with a full set of skills that you can use to create beautiful functional and artistic pieces.
