Like universities, children's museums provide young people a place to study nature, an outlet to explore their creativity, and an excuse not to have a real job. Procrastinate constructively with today's Groupon to The Magic House. Choose between the following options:
- For $20, you get five museum admissions (a $43.75 total value).
- For $75, you get a one-year family membership and a $5 gift card to the museum shop (a $155 total value).
Named the No. 1 rated attraction in the nation by child appeal in a Zagat guide and housed in a Victorian mansion built in 1901, The Magic House children's museum encourages kids to unleash their creativity and develop problem-solving skills with exhibits on music, science, imagination, and more. Hair stands on end when children discover the properties of electrical currents at the electrically charged ball, and the Star-Spangled Center allows kids to raise the nation's flag and give a historic speech about lowering Big Bird's taxes. The special Alice's Wonderland exhibit transports children to the world of Lewis Carroll's classic tome, enhancing kids' math and science skills as they tangle with fractions at a mad tea party and discover time-telling with a crazy clock. After a day of exploration, families can refuel with healthy sandwiches and mixed-green salads at the museum's Picnic Basket Cafe.
In addition to a $5 credit at the museum shop, the second option rewards families (up to two adults and four children) with a one-year membership, which gets them unlimited admission plus the following benefits:
- 10 free guest passes
- Free admission to more than 160 museums that are members of the Association of Children's Museums reciprocal program
- 10% discount on birthday parties and summer camp
- Invitations to free members-only events
- Discounts on special events and programs
- 10% discount in the Museum Shop
- 10% discount in the Picnic Basket Cafe

About The Magic House
Though built as a private home in 1901, the Victorian mansion stood vacant for years—until its first children's hands-on exhibits opened to the public over 40 years ago. Since then, The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum's curators have worked to engage children of all ages in learning and creative thought through a range of interactive multimedia exhibits. Their exhibits enable visitors to service cars, work in a pizza parlor, and go fishing in a child-centric community, or play with pumps and pipes in a waterworks playground. They can also climb a three-story fairy-tale beanstalk or travel the world without a passport during a visit to the World Traveler Gallery.
Museum staffers also organize a range of themed birthday parties, during which attendees play and complete special tasks as scientists or fairy-tale nobility. Visitors can refuel for exploration at the on-site Picnic Basket Cafe, whose menu highlights whole grains and healthy ingredients.
