Two-hour comedic whodunit unfolds as guests dine on three-course meals & work to solve mystery with tablemates
Life is full of unanswered questions, such as who really built the pyramids, where swiss cheese gets its holes, and what the "J" in Michael J. Fox stands for. Get to the bottom of a solvable mystery with today's Groupon: for $29, you get one ticket to a two-hour dinner and whodunit performance by The Murder Mystery Company at Edison's (a $60 value).
Murder-mystery dinners exercise detective skills and untested telepathic abilities in an evening of mock murder and faux fatalities that unfold over a three-course meal. In between an introductory salad and a mystery dessert epilogue, guests nosh on buffet items, including slow-roasted beef or grilled chicken with thick mushroom sauce, both served with sides such as homemade yeast rolls, long-cut green beans, whole kernel corn, and garlic mashed potatoes. As mouths occupy themselves, the comic mystery begins with a murder, and a detective arrives on the scene to locate the perpetrator in the audience. Tablemates work together to clear their good names, slyly sleuthing and sorting out clues to flex critical-thinking skills and prepare them for futures in real-life crime.
Though drinks are not included with this Groupon, drink specials are available during the show. Lap up libations while scanning the room for guilty eyes and hairpieces preparing to flee at any moment. All patrons will receive a photo slide show from the performance as a way to fondly remember light-hearted, death-themed eves. Arriving 30 minutes before the show is recommended; check the full listing of showtimes online.
