The Path of Tea—crowned Best Tea House by CityVoter Houston A-List in 2010—introduces sippers to the art of steeping via interactive tea tastings held twice a month. During the one-hour session, pupils learn the fundamentals of tea infusion and consumption, including how to select and brew a balmy beverage and how to bolster the self-esteem of pots unhappy about their shortness and stoutness. Palates wallow in cockle-warming samples of five teas as noses inhale and analyze serenity-inducing fragrances billowing forth from the steaming cups. Along with boosting participants’ gustatory prowess, the tasting delves into tea’s storied past, from its rarified ceremonial origins to its present-day place at the parties of hatters mad and otherwise. Classes hold up to 30 people to maintain an intimate atmosphere, and a complimentary 2-ounce bag of premium organic tea enables students to hone their newly minted skills at home.

About The Path of Tea
The Path of Tea—crowned one of the top six tea houses by CityVoter's Houston A-List in 2013—greatly soothes the senses. One A-List voter said that, "Walking into this shop you get an immediate sense of serenity, suddenly your body just goes 'ahhhhh.'" And that's not even taking into account the tranquillity that comes from sipping a cup of tea from its stock of more than 150 certified-organic and fair-trade teas.
To help patrons find a favorite brew, the tea house offers tea tastings twice a month. During these one-hour sessions, tasters learn the fundamentals of tea infusion and consumption, and sample five different teas. The tasting also discusses how different cultures use it in ceremonies or to quickly de-ice a car windshield.
