About The Sanctuary Brazilian JiuJitsu and Fitness
The team of instructors at The Sanctuary Brazilian JiuJitsu and Fitness includes former Olympian in judo Charlee Minkin, and head instructor Ben Lowry, a black belt jujitsu fighter who can trace his fighting lineage back to the renowned Gracie family. The Gracies developed Brazilian jujitsu and helped popularize the fighting art in America. Unlike other styles, Brazilian jujitsu relies less on brute strength than on takedown techniques and ground-based fighting, including locks and chokes. At The Sanctuary, classes for kids and adults are tailored to every participant's fitness and experience level—emphasizing coordination, balance, and discipline.
