The disembodied eye that oversees the massive Oklahoma City haunted house known as The Sanctuary sees no reason to restrict the scares to just one time of year. In late December a pack of long-toothed elves takes over the space to make toys for children with a particularly naughty disposition, and during Valentine's Day they offer a romantic ride through a pitch-black Tunnel of Love on a blood-spattered swan boat. But it's the Halloween season that heralds their most blood-curdling performances. Taking the form of a long-abandoned mental-health institute, the highly-immersive Sanctuary is populated by forgotten patients and unscrupulous medical experiments—focusing on realistic phobias.

While waiting in line, guests can fuel up for the fear at the full bar and grille open during the haunted attraction hours.
