History is rife with iceberg-related disasters, such as Titanic's infamous shortage of iceberg lettuce during its inaugural dinner. Explore sea-born catastrophes with today's Groupon: for $12, you get admission to Titanic The Experience (up to a $23.60 value including tax). Admission is $12.95 for children ages 3–11.

Titanic The Experience, a 20,000-square-foot interactive museum helmed by a diver who has led two deep-sea expeditions to the actual site of Titanic's wreckage, transports visitors back to 1912 with exhibits, artifacts, and knowledgeable staff members. Join an hour-long guided tour and explore full-scale recreations of the most famous areas and rooms of the Titanic, such as the grand staircase, the boilers, Verandah Café, the first-class parlor suite, and the Starfleet-grade teleportation chamber. Portraying notable passengers on the ill-fated ocean liner, trained actors in period-appropriate duds lead visitors out onto the open-air Promenade Deck, recounting stories from their unexpectedly short voyage. Big boat buffs will note more than 200 artifacts from prestigious private collections, many of which are on display for the first time, including a costume worn by Leonardo DiCaprio in the Ocsar-winning film, an 8-foot replica of the Titanic as she appears today, and a pitcher of lemonade boasting collectible ice cubes chiseled from the notorious iceberg.

About Titanic The Artifact Exhibition

When they enter Titanic The Experience, visitors receive a replica boarding pass. From there, they relive the ship's history from a passenger's perspective, from life onboard during its 1912 maiden voyage through to the crash. The exhibit closes with updates on modern efforts to recover its wreckage, which the museum is thoroughly part of—it's myriad artifacts were found by a team that performed seven deep-sea expeditions.

  • Size: More than 5,500 authentic artifacts, including one of the passengers' perfume bottles, and china etched with the White Star Line's logo.
  • Eye-catcher: The 17-ton section of the ship's hull.
  • Don't miss: A glimpse at the paper documents that, against all odds, survived the shipwreck. Their story? They're from leather suitcases and briefcases; the era's tanning process made leather repel ocean microorganisms.
  • Pro tip: The exhibit's artifacts are conserved, not restored. They team prevents them from decaying further, but wants to show the damage done by the shipwreck, the ocean, and the passage of time.
