About Treetop Adventures at the Elmwood Park Zoo

Treetop Adventures may be the best place in Pennsylvania to prepare for a career as a superhero or a flying squirrel. Harnessed to ziplines measuring up to 100 feet long, visitors soar through the treetops, swing from platform to platform, and even enjoy a bird's-eye view of, well, birds. And jaguars. And bison. The park's aerial adventure courses stretch across Elmwood Park Zoo's grounds and several of its exhibits.

The only time visitors are unlikely to spot animals below is during monthly Night Adventure outings, which offer their own slightly spooky thrills. On any day or course, the aerial games and obstacles along the way may be challenging, but the ride is smooth.

Elmwood Park Zoo

It all started with a farmer's generosity. In 1924, a civic-minded citizen handed over 16 acres of lush farmland and a small group of critters to the Borough of Norristown. Today, the Elmwood Park Zoo welcomes guests in hopes of creating a future stock of wildlife lovers and conservation advocates. A menagerie of exotic animals from all over the globe - including jaguars, river otters, and bald eagles - peer back at visitors. Guests can also spy on more than 15 species that are threatened or endangered.
