Under-exposure to sports can cause some to confusedly throw footballs through basketball hoops, club baseballs through the grass, or play rugby union with only 13 players per team. With today's Groupon, get it all straightened out and do it with a side of melted cheese. For $15, you get $35 worth of pub grub and fine fermentations at the Uptown Sports Bar & Grill, where everybody might not know your name but at least knows what you're drinking. Your Groupon is not valid on holidays.
In appearance, noise, and flavor, Uptown is the platonic ideal of a sports bar, replete with darts, pool, and trivia nights. But when it comes to the games themselves, the relationship is brazenly amorous. Big-screen TVs stay tuned to worldwide athletic matchups, while theme rooms such as Lobo Land and 19th Hole keep you in the zone for the extreme exertion of focusing your eyes.
Both the casual and the committed train their iron esophagi on the Uptown wings dipped in habanero "death trap" garlic sauce ($12 for a dozen) and test their mettle on chorizo-topped nachos with chipotle chiles and the usual sour cream and cheese ($10). Wash it down with a selection of 34 draft beers, ranging from the ubiquitous to the more unusual, such as Big Sky's Moose Drool and New Mexico's own Turtle Mountain ($2–$5 pint). Those who prefer a side of food with their beer reach for the Double Play, two 8 oz. Angus beef burgers crusted in steak seasoning and accompanied by a posse of pickles, sweet-potato fries, and crisp, hot onion rings ($16). Fans celebratory and depressed each cap the closing seconds with good sportsmanship and a touch of class: flan in Grand Marnier crème anglaise sauce ($8).

Citysearchers give Uptown Sports Bar four stars and say it's a fun spot to watch the game:
- Uptown was the perfect spot to watch sundays [sic] game. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. Staff was fun to be around. Most of the time I find sports bars don't have very good service and I was very happy with uptown. I highly recomend this bar and I can't wait to go back for the next game! – bwhelche
- Was looking around town to watch the playoff games at a sports bar... Looked online and decided to go to Uptown. It was great!! I had the Double-Play there and it is a HUGE double stacked burger with double sides... I couldnt even finish it and cooked to perfection, unlike some other sports bars, they do their food right and now I am a fan!! I will keep coming back for more and try the whole menu! – Chef123
