Spider veins, much like spider monkeys, may attract attention when paraded about in a pair of shorts. Flaunt flawless gams with today’s Groupon: for $149, you get two sclerotherapy treatments for varicose or spider veins on the legs at Vein Institute of Utah in Midvale (a $600 value).
Piloted by Board-certified physician Dr. Ehsan Hadjbian, the Vein Institute of Utah’s welcoming and experienced staff aims to relieve restless, painful, and cramping legs from the constraints of varicose and spider veins. During sclerotherapy treatments, Dr. Hadjbian will inject unsightly blood tunnels with medicine using a delicate needle. Over the course of 2–5 months, the vessel’s lining will dry out and break down, allowing the body to re-absorb it into the same black hole that sucks in stray thoughts and undigested Twizzlers. As blood is redirected to healthier veins, legs can experience improved circulation and a clearer skin canvas. A consultation and evaluation with the doctor before treatments is required and is included with this deal.
Though up to five treatments may be needed for optimal results, clients sporting bulging veins may need an additional ultrasound treatment (not included with this deal but may be covered by insurance depending on company, symptoms, and medical necessity) to assess varicose veins. For some spider veins, Dr. Hadjbian may use a Veinlite device to transilluminate the skin, helping locate superficial feeder veins and long-faded Charlotte's Web tattoos.
