During 20-minute introductory climbing classes, knowledgeable staff members teach beginner rock ascenders ages 13 and older how to scale Vertical Ventures’ 6,000 square feet of sport climbs and boulders. Climbers learn how to properly don safety gear before instructors teach them how to manage the ropes with belay instruction and dinner with a killer stroganoff recipe. Class takers receive climbing rights and gear for that day, and they may break free from ground-bound lives once more with a complimentary return visit that does not include gear rental ($11 for shoes, harness, and chalk bag).
Scalers can then more fully explore the handholds of top-roped indoor peaks, smaller boulder climbs, and ceiling routes that take climbers to new lateral heights.
