When your cruise ship docks at the port in Ketchikan — the southeastern-most city in Alaska — get ready for a full-day adventure! Take to the skies above Ketchikan and admire views of Tongass National Forest and its surrounding mountains. Learn about the landmarks below from your pilot, and hear about the special history of your de Havilland Beaver floatplane, which was only produced from 1947 to 1967.

After 20 minutes in the air, land at the George Inlet Lodge, a rustic retreat across the southern tip of Revillagigedo Island from Ketchikan. Your host will greet you with a taste of smoked salmon and entertain you with some facts about the history of the lodge, including its 90-mile (145-km) journey across the ocean to its present location.

Have a seat in the ocean-side dining room and dive into your feast of succulent Dungeness with melted butter, accompanied by steamed red potatoes, romaine salad with homemade Asian–style dressing. With a happy belly, browse the gift shop for souvenirs. Then step in a minivan and relax on the 30-minute narrated coastal drive back to Ketchikan, passing totem poles, a fish hatchery and the Coast Guard station along the way.
