Looking for a fun and active summer day trip idea? We’ve got you! Our Bainbridge Island, WA pickleball tours take groups to the birthplace of pickleball during the summer months. Jen & Madeleine, your friendly and knowledgeable tour guides (and certified pickleball coaches), provide transportation for your group throughout the 5-hour tour. You’ll visit points of interest and historic pickleball locations, enjoy scenic ferry rides, and get a chance to play with your group. We’ll provide hand-crafted, gourmet boxed lunches, and lots of fun pickleball facts! Our tours are great for people visiting from out of town or those just looking for a unique and enjoyable summer outing with friends and family. Kids are welcome too! No pets, please. Your guides will meet you at the stairs at Colman Dock, Seattle Ferry Terminal. We will walk onto the ferry enjoying the newly renovated passenger terminal that shows off Seattle, the Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountains. On our 35-minute ferry ride, we will take in the views, be on the lookout for orcas, and set the stage for our tour with a fun game of trivia.

We drive to Lynwood and through Pleasant Beach, the home of the original pickleball court. Learning about the history of the game where it all began! We make a stop at a local bakery for a snack and weather permitting walk out onto the beach to eat. Your guides teach you not only about the history of pickleball but Bainbridge Island history too!

As we walk in the entrance to the Founders Courts the timeline of pickleball is laid for us to soak in as we approach these special courts dedicated to the birthplace of pickleball. Time and weather permitting, we will play pickleball with the locals. After the play, we will enjoy a gourmet boxed lunch set up on a beautiful table with prime viewing of the courts.

The trip to the birthplace of pickleball would not be complete without the opportunity to get some pickleball swag. At this locally owned store, shop amazing, one-of-a-kind pickleball merchandise created by the artist and owner, Alex Sanso. If the timing is right we might even get a chance to buy from the artist herself!

We will visit this beautifully curated museum, located in the original schoolhouse. There is a pickleball installation as well as one on maritime transportation, Japanese Americans and forestry, and more. It is a great way to celebrate Bainbridge Island's history and learn about its connections to the world.

Our trip concludes with our guides getting you to the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal and onto the 2:05 (or similar, depending on the day) ferry. The relaxing 35-minute ride back to Seattle features (weather permitting) views of Mt. Rainier, the Port of Seattle, and downtown.
