Join Author and Historian Rita Fuller-Yates as she takes us on a journey through the historic streets of Savannah, Georgia, to discover its rich black history dating back to 1526. That's right... 1526! The journey takes us through before the dark days of Slavery, the brutality to freedom, the rise to education, and the civil rights movement in a segregated Savannah. As the journey continues to take us through time, we learn more about Savannah's black churches and communities and the stories of those who overcame great adversities to become landowners, business owners, and even leadership positions. With over 25 sites, each 90-minute tour is jam-packed with information, videos, photos, sound effects, music, and props to support the stories along the way… Oh, and you may find yourself having some fun too. This tour requires your participation, so please plan to cheer, cry, dance, and FEEL the love of Savannah's rich black history.
