In 2019, Silver Dollar City hosts “The Year of Shows & Festivals! Topline features include a new $1 million, original mega-production show for Summer, Reuben’s Swashbuckling Adventure; and new for Fall, a spectacular evening and nighttime experience, Pumpkin Nights with thousands of glowing pumpkins artfully brought to life throughout the streets of the City, creating the biggest Fall in the park’s nearly 6-decade history. Silver Dollar City made history in 2018 with Time Traveler, the World’s Fastest, Steepest and Tallest Complete-Circuit Spinning Roller Coaster. The $26 million ride is world-record breaking as the fastest, with a top speed of 50.3 miles per hour; steepest, with a 10-story, 90-dgree vertical drop; tallest, custom-designed for mountainous terrain with its tallest point at 100 feet;
Silver Dollar City began as a re-creation of the mining town that once stood at the mouth of Marvel Cave, which lies under the park, and has been one of the state’s leading attractions for more than five decades, now encompassing more than 100 acres and drawing about two million visitors each year. It is the original property of Herschend Family Entertainment, the nation’s largest family-owned theme park corporation.
Ten festivals and events offer a variety of entertainment and activities throughout the year, from Festival of Wonder in the spring to the acclaimed An Old Time Christmas. Proclaimed by the U.S. Congress as the “Home of American Craftsmanship,” Silver Dollar City showcases America’s heritage crafts with a demonstrating colony of 100 resident craftsmen.
