A tandem skydive is the most common option for first time jumpers. In a tandem skydive, you'll be hooked at four points to a highly experienced professional skydiver who has completed thousands of jumps. This allows you to enjoy the skydive without the pressure of knowing how to open, steer, or land a parachute. A few minutes of instruction prior to boarding the plane is all you need for a safe, enjoyable skydive! 
Located in Novato, California, only 25 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, this is the closest skydive center to San Francisco. From your vantage point 14,000 feet above San Francisco's North Bay, your instructor will point out views of the San Francisco city skyline, San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Pacific Ocean, Golden Gate Bridge, Napa and Sonoma wine country, Farallon Islands, Angel Island and Alcatraz. On a clear day, views carry out all the way to the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains. You won't find these spectacular views at any other skydive center.
Once you've completed your skydive, you can continue to enjoy the area on your own by visiting a winery or two in nearby Sonoma or Napa, take a along the Pacific Coast Highway, or take a hike through Muir Woods.
