Once aboard the Grateful Red luxury powerboat, we cruise from the marina and the first stop is the Valhalla estate at the Tallac Historic Center. Time stands still at one of Tahoe’s original luxury mansions built in 1920 and home to the rich and famous earliest homeowners. Lucky Baldwin built his famous Tallac Casino, and legends surround the fire which destroyed it.

We continue the mystery tour, cruising to beautiful Emerald Bay. As we pass the only island on Lake Tahoe, Fannett island, watch for the ghost of the former caretaker Captain Richard Barter walking the island looking for his lost tomb. If the spirits permit, we disembark at lonely Emerald Bay. This is a rare opportunity to walk the grounds of the mansion Vikingsholm, with no one around, except of course, someone in the mansion turning on and off the light seen in the top floor bedroom. If you happen to notice the smell of cinnamon toast, it’s no wonder as this has been reported many times by groundskeepers, as it was the daily breakfast of the Lady of the Manor, Ms. Lora Knight.

As the sunsets, capture the magic of the cloud formations and the amber sunsets as you make your way back to safe harbor.
