The gym can be intimidating to someone who hasn't learned proper exercise etiquette, such as wiping down equipment after use and granting punching bags the first blow. Hone your hunk-tastic charm with today's Groupon: for $30, you get 20 passes to Waverley Oaks Athletic Club in Waltham (up to a $300 value).

Founded as a racquetball club in 1979, Waverley Oaks Athletic Club has since expanded its fitness circumference to contain more than 100 cardio machines, a 50-foot pool, sports courts, and an impressive roster of classes. Guests of all ages can explore the 55,000-square-foot complex, which bolsters muscles with free weights, sets gams churning in a television-equipped spinning studio, and includes 12 new Life Fitness Signature Series machines, plus two indoor basketball courts and four racquetball courts to host pickup competitions. A women's only workout room caters to ladies with a private changing area, lounge, and health magazines with tutorials for turning kettlebells into gala-ready earrings. After pumping iron and heart rates, visitors can unwind in a whirlpool or steam room. Additionally, an onsite nursery cares for youngsters six days a week while guardians amass enough power to send them off to college aboard one well-aimed shot put.

About Waverley Oaks Athletic Club

Waverley Oaks Athletic Club was founded in 1979 as a racquetball club by a family focused on fitness. Over the years, they added on to the club, creating a 55,000-square-foot facility with modern workout equipment, fitness classes, and amenities such as a nursery and heated indoor pool. In addition to its four regulation-size racquetball courts, Waverley Oaks now also houses facilities for volleyball, basketball, and spinning. Strength training and cardio rooms provide dumbbells of up to 120 pounds and more than 10 types of cardio machines. Groups can stretch their muscles in yoga classes or prepare for community theater roles as Jean-Claude Van Damme in kickboxing classes.
