Adding water results in less floury biscuits, larger foam dinosaurs, and slides that won't give a shirtless cousin friction burn. Douse yourself in smooth-moving good times with today's Groupon: for $13, you get one all-day admission (up to a $26.99 value) to Wild Water Adventure Park in Clovis. The park opens to the public on May 29.

Wild Water Adventure Park's multiple water slides, massive wave pool, fishing lakes, and 15,000-square-foot kiddie area have made it a consistent winner of the Fresno Bee’s People’s Choice Award. The park’s newest addition, the GhostSlider, spins the swimsuited around inside a whirlpool bowl before shooting them out into a sparkling pool, and the Sidewinder rockets the bravest aquanauts down a three-story vertical drop and into a three-story horizontal leap over a pool of shark-infested blue-raspberry Jello. Others may choose to conquer the simulated surf of the Blue Wave, the largest wave pool in California. As smaller swimmers cavort amid the slides, splash pools, and sea creatures of Adventure Bay, their parents can lure bass, catfish, and bluegill with a coquettish wave of their hankies at Wild Water's three fishing lakes.

Wild Water Adventure Park sprawls across 52 acres, including a great deal of green space. While food is sold at the park, guests are welcome to bring their own and enjoy it amid the various picnic areas.

Seniors should not buy this Groupon because regular all-day admission for ages 62+ is less than the Groupon price.

About Wild Water Adventure Park

Although it originally opened in 1974 as a picnic, camping, and fishing site, the area currently known as Wild Water Adventure Park has changed dramatically over the decades. The three fishing lakes are still there—stocked with everything from bass and catfish to bluegill and sushi rolls—but its 52 verdant acres now hold 38 water slides and 20 different attractions, creating an expansive all-ages retreat at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

More than one million gallons of crystalline water power the massive wave pool's four-foot waves. On the slide side, tube-riders can brave the pitch-black twists of the Vortex and the Sidewinder's three-story plunge. Even younger children can savor appropriately scaled thrills in the play area's splash pool plus 15,000 square feet of toddler-friendly activities. This range of aquatic amenities has made Wild Water Adventure Park a perennial staple on The Fresno Bee's People's Choice Awards, routinely winning the title of Best Water Park.

Not every activity at Wild Water Adventure Park requires a bathing suit, however. Sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and a softball diamond all provide ample space for outdoor fun. Numerous barbecue stations dot the grass, allowing families to cook up a hearty lunch.
